exams are evil

I know school is meant to be the best years of your life etc. etc. but A level exams suck.
When you take exams in January you don't get any studyleave in sixth form, you used to get the afternoon off before a morning exam and the morning off before an afternoon exam. Then our new head of sixth form came along and said, you don't get anything off for a re-sit and you don't get the afternoons off. Therefore i am going to fail my A levels, that was valuable cramming time he stole! Also all the subject teacher are so over-stretched trying to cover the syllabus in general, they aren't giving us ANY in-class revision. I hate this time of year.
And it's been cold, which is not fun.

New Boots

All rage from this weekend has been zapped away when i recieved the best present in the history of the world. ever.
A pair of beautiful vintage, never-used, white leather cowboy boots that would make Noel Fielding jealous.
They are cowboy boots as only vintage ones could be: the perfect shape without stupid details or crappy detail or nasty heels. Just simple slouchy boots.
I love them.
Thank you Sam, you are amazing!

Musical sadness

It's been a while since the last post, and i've only just started using the journal and getting used to any of this! Just thought i'd share my utter musical sadness. This weekend i discovered the following:

1) That i can't go to Glastonbury this year as I have an exam on the monday after it and I will be out of my face at that point. I hate education.
2) That the NME tour at the Academy has sold out already so it's just me and my mate as no one else managed to get tickets in time.
3) It has taken me nearly all day to track down the Robots in Disguise album Disguises, as I couldn't find it on Amazon or iTunes etc.

Everything has been against me enjoying the music i love this weekend.

New year, new discoveries

So we're nearly a whole week into the new year, but to be honest it isn't that different from the previous one. Although one of the nice points (other than the MASSIVE social events) of the christmas break have been the fab things on tv. Firstly the Doctor Who christmas special was brilliant, Tennant has finally earnt a place in my purist heart as a fantastic Doctor. Secondly i had never really noticed or cared much about Russell Brand but after watching him on the Big Fat Quiz with the absolutely LOVELY Noel Fielding, i realised what a funny guy he actually is. Those two were a great double act though, bring on Goth Detectives.
My other great discovery of the new year was the massive amount of beautiful vintage clothing on the internet, there was me thinking for that sort of style you had to go through markets and tiny dusty vintage shops but use the internet and there's so much more, so much better, so much more in my size! The one downside of being skinny, clothes never fit and if you want one off vintage pieces it just isn't going to happen because that beauty in the middle of all the crap is NEVER a size 6 or 8. Dammit. So the internet is my new favourite shopping partner.
It's exam season at the moment and it's a lot to deal with, as revision mounts so hopefully i will be able to stay calm by relaxing when i can and won't get too distracted shopping when i should be revising, does anyone else wonder though, who's dumbarse idea it was to put coursework deadlines at the same time as finals?
